No one really questions what the tower's for. It's been there since anyone can remember. No one's ever been seen entering or leaving it. I don't even think there's a way in. Just featureless stone bricks stacked upon eachother, climbing into the invisible reaches of the sky. Vines grow all along it and the stones are bleached with age from the sun and rain. It doesn't even have a name.
But still no one questions it. No one discusses it. It's as if their minds don't even register its existence. Right in the middle of town, people just walk right by it, without even a glance in its direction. Almost like they don't know it's there, but they do. It's been there all this time.
I haven't really payed it any attention until today. All day it's been all I can think about. I've asked people about it but the moment I mention the tower they simply walk by me. I call out to them but they don't listen.
They ignore me. Like I'm not even here.
But I am here. I'm here and the tower's here and I'm going to find out what's going on. I approach the massive structure as people walk by me, only registering my presence enough to maneuver around me.
I look up at the tower and hold back a gasp as I fail to see the tip of it. There has to be something to it. It's so huge. Maybe there's something inside it or waiting at the top of it. There has to be.
I take a few steps near the cold stone and place a palm against it.

So, I got Okami last week. It's a bit... better than I expected. It happens to totally rock. If you happen to be a fan of Zelda [or a fan of good games at all], then I recommend this game to as high a degree as possible without going to the point of assaulting someone [unless it's necessary]. It's big, beautiful, exciting, clever, and rather original when it isn't borrowing from my favorite game franchise featuring a silent little elf clad in a green tunic.
Kristin, you will likely love this game.Current Mood: FOOM! Current Music: queasy - overdub theory

Traded in a buncha games yesterday at Gamestop. Got $108 worth of credit. Bought Disgaea 2, fully payed off Okami [just gotta walk in Wednesday and pick it up], bought my friend Tony a used copy of Jade Empire for, like, eleven bucks, and put about 12 bucks down on FFXII Collector's Edition. I don't care what you say, I feel accomplished.
Also, if you like RPGs, particularly good ones, get Disgaea 2. Then play it. Your mind will be all like "Hey, thanks."Current Mood: OMG AFK!!! Current Music: squarepusher - obrien

Alright, I'm doing better lately. My previous issue which you will no longer find up here has been sorted out somewhat and no one hates me. Hooray.
Really, not much else has been going on. Just got back from spending a lot of time at a friend's house, where many other friends were gathered. Together, we proved ourselves loud, obnoxious, silly beyond comprehension, and seriously lacking of an "etc.". We spent much of the time messing with the first friend's dog. Really, it wasn't that hard, considering she gets excited when you so much as stand up.
In other news, ...
...um...
Alright there is no other news. I've kinda made a resolve to actually focus more on school work, which may or may not play out. I'm working on it, though. Honestly.
For now, keep your ears to the ground and your eyes to the sky. Somethings bound to happen with one of them.
Someday.

As the sound fades away, replaced by the persistant tinking of random notes in a major chord on a xylophone and the sparks fly in dangerously slow motion, you look up to see the end of what you've started. It is then that you realize, as the heavenly cascade of beauty's essence drowns your fate and the earth that you once believed in dissappears from under your feet, that today may be all that's left.

Heh, sorta lookin' forward to UMARMY this year.
For those of you who don't know what UMARMY is, it stands for United MEthodist Action Rach-out Mission by Youth. Basically, it involves a buncha different youth groups from different Methodist churches getting together in one town and staying in one church for a week. While they're there, they go to different [pre-determined] houses and fix up stuff that needs fixin'. It tends to be a lotta fun and I meet cool new people every year.
Right now there's a UM Army group at my church. I went to a little ice cream social to which they had invited anyone who felt like coming. I went and found some people I had met last year. We talked and had a good time. Cool folks, them. Kinda upset, though, 'cuz that means that they won't be going to the same site as me when I go in a few weeks. But hey, I'll meet other cool people, and it'll totally rock.
